(Senior) Software Developer Backend / Python (m/f/d)

SaaS backend with an AI-first culture in Saarbrücken: You develop features in Django and Django REST Framework, contribute to FastAPI microservices and drive the adoption of AI-assisted development tools within the team. Home office on up to 2 days per week.

Ihre Aufgaben

• You develop features and improvements for the backend of a SaaS application in Django / Django REST Framework and contribute to additional microservices (e.g. in FastAPI), consistently using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor to deliver faster and more efficiently
• As an experienced software developer, you coordinate with your colleagues in the backend team and all relevant stakeholders (product management, frontend development, UX, sales, etc.)
• You actively help drive the AI-first development culture: you explore new tools, share best practices within the team and help integrate AI meaningfully into daily workflows
• You support the technical documentation of the product
• You conduct AI-assisted code reviews, help apply AI tools in day-to-day development and support ticket distribution and the steering of the development process

Ihr Profil

• You hold a degree in computer science or a related IT-focused field, or have completed vocational training as an IT specialist for application development (Fachinformatiker Anwendungsentwicklung)
• You have at least 3 years of relevant full-time professional experience
• You have several years of experience with Python and backend development using Django / Django REST Framework; experience with additional frameworks such as FastAPI is a plus
• You are confident in designing and developing REST APIs and in working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and ORM-based data modeling
• You work routinely with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar) and know how to critically assess their output and integrate it sensibly into existing workflows
• You are eager to help shape an AI-first culture: you try out new tools, share your experiences and help the team work smarter
