Please note: This job posting is in English, as English is the working language at our Basecamp in Licata. Good English skills are required for the position.

The base camp in Licata, Sicily, is the heart of our search and rescue operations. It serves as the central logistics hub in Licata for the SEA-EYE 5 and plays a key role in preparing rotations, coordinating supplies, and supporting the crew between rotations.
At the Basecamp, crews prepare for their operations, relax after their time at sea, and remain integrated into all operational structures. Since its establishment in October 2024, it has grown into a well-organized and lively place that supports both the operational needs of the ship and the well-being of the crew.

For 2027, we are looking for Volunteer Cooks and Volunteer Joker to join our Basecamp team.

Volunteer CookAs a Volunteer Cook, you are responsible for preparing nutritious and varied vegetarian and vegan meals for crew members and guests. You plan the menus yourself, taking into account the schedule and operational needs shared by the Basecamp Manager.
The kitchen is your space to get creative, while you also help keep it running smoothly. This includes managing food storage, keeping the kitchen clean and organized, and preparing grocery lists. You will also have the opportunity to join trainings and sea trials and get an insight into the work of the crew.

Are you enjoying to cook for a community? Do you have experience cooking for larger groups and feel confident preparing vegetarian and vegan meals?

Volunteer Joker
As a Joker / Operation Support Volunteer, you support the Basecamp Manager and the wider team with a variety of day-to-day operational, logistical, and practical tasks.
This includes provisioning the ship with food, materials, and equipment, as well as carrying out small repairs, maintenance, and other hands-on tasks at the Basecamp and on board. You may also support training sessions, sea trials, crew rotations, and SAR standby activities when needed.
As a Joker, you help ensure that things run smoothly – both in the Basecamp and on board the ship – and that the team can focus on its operational work.

Are you hands-on, reliable, and flexible? Do you enjoy working as part of a team, adapting to different tasks, and finding practical solutions? Experience in repairs, maintenance, carpentry, or similar hands-on work is a plus.
