An unserer Mathematisch-Geographischen Fakultät ist am Mathematischen Institut für Data Science und Maschinelles Lernen zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine Teilzeitstelle (50%) als

Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (m/w/d)

befristet bis zum 30. September 2029 zu besetzen. Dienstort ist Ingolstadt. Die Bezahlung erfolgt im Rahmen des privatrechtlichen Arbeitsverhältnisses bei gegebenen tariflichen Voraussetzungen nach Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L. Eine begleitende Promotion wird unterstützt.

Das im Rahmen der Förderlinie „Die Welt ist mein Campus“ von der Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre geförderte Projekt SHARE stärkt die strukturelle Verankerung transformativer Hochschulbildung an der KU. Vor dem Hintergrund zentraler Herausforderungen wie Klimawandel, Künstlicher Intelligenz und Desinformation verknüpft die KU Lehre, Forschung und gesellschaftliche Verantwortung auf innovative Weise. Dabei werden ausgewählte Studiengänge zu Prototypen weiterentwickelt und neue Modelle transformativer Hochschulbildung erprobt.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Sie entwickeln mit den im Studiengang beteiligten Lehrenden bestehende Methoden der Transformativen Hochschulbildung weiter bzw. erarbeiten neue didaktische Ansätze, Methoden und Prüfungsformate.
  • Sie wirken mit an der Konzeption und Umsetzung des Projekts „Shaping Responsibility (SHARE): Transformative Education for Active Citizens“ und stimmen die lehrstuhl- und studiengangsspezifischen Aktivitäten eng mit der Projektleitung, dem Studiengangsteam sowie zentralen Projektstellen ab.
  • Sie vertreten den Studiengang B.Sc. und M. Sc. Data Science in der KU-Academy for Social Responsibility & Transformative Education, insbesondere in der AG der Studiengänge.
  • Sie ermitteln gemeinsam mit den Lehrenden Qualifizierungs-, Beratungs- und Unterstüt-zungsbedarfe und stimmen diese mit der zentralen Stelle für Weiterbildung und Coaching ab (Team-Building, Kompetenzaufbau).
  • Sie erarbeiten gemeinsam mit den Stellen für Beteiligungsmanagement und Begleitforschung Ansätze für die konkrete Studierendenbeteiligung und Wirkungsprüfung bzgl. des integrierten Kompetenzmodells.
  • Sie wirken in Zusammenarbeit mit der Stelle Wissenstransfer an der Dissemination und dem Transfer der Ergebnisse mit (u. a. durch Veröffentlichungen, Handreichungen, Tagungsbeiträge, öffentliche Veranstaltungen und Netzwerktreffen)

Ihr Profil

  • erfolgreich abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium, vorzugsweise in Mathematik, Data Science oder einem verwandten Fach
  • Interesse an gesellschafts- und zukunftsorientierter Hochschul- und Studiengangsentwicklung und der Gestaltung innovativer Lehr-Lern-Formate insbesondere im Studiengang B.Sc. Data Science und M.Sc. Data Science
  • wünschenswert sind erste wissenschaftliche Lehrerfahrungen
  • sehr gute Kommunikations- und Kooperationsfähigkeit sowie Freude an der Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Akteurinnen und Akteuren aus Wissenschaft und Praxis
  • wissenschaftliche Neugierde, Einsatzbereitschaft sowie eine strukturierte, zuverlässige und eigenverantwortliche Arbeitsweise
  • Interesse an einer wissenschaftlichen Weiterqualifikation im Themenfeld der transformativen (Hochschul-)Bildung

The Mathematical Institute for Machine Learning and Data Science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Geography at the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt invites applications for a part-time position (50%) as

research associate (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (m/w/d))

to be filled by the earliest possible starting date for a limited period until September 30, 2029. The place of work will be Ingolstadt. Provided that the requirements are met, remuneration in the private-law employment relationship will be according to the pay grade E 13 TV-L. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to complete a doctoral degree.

The SHARE project, funded by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education under the “The World Is My Campus” funding program, strengthens the structural integration of transformative higher education at the KU. Against the backdrop of key challenges such as climate change, artificial intelligence, and disinformation, the KU combines teaching, research, and social responsibility in innovative ways. As part of this effort, selected degree programs will be further developed into prototypes, and new models of transformative higher education will be tested.

Your tasks

  • Together with the lecturers involved in the program, you will further develop existing methods of transformative higher education and devise new pedagogical approaches, methods, and assessment formats.
  • You will help design and implement the project “Shaping Responsibility (SHARE): Transformative Education for Active Citizens” and closely coordinate Chair- and program-specific activities with the project management, the degree program team and central project offices.
  • You will represent the BSc and MSc Data Science degree programs at the KU Academy for Social Responsibility & Transformative Education, particularly in the degree program working group.
  • Together with the lecturers of the program, you will identify qualification, advice, and support needs and coordinate these with the central office for continuing education and coaching (team building, skill development).
  • Together with the offices responsible for engagement management and accompanying research, you will be developing approaches for tangible student engagement and impact assessment with regard to the integrated competency model.
  • You will work in collaboration with the knowledge transfer office to disseminate and transfer the results (including through publications, handouts, conference papers, public events, and networking meetings)

Your profile

  • A successfully completed university degree in a scientific field, preferably in mathematics, data science, or a related field
  • Interest in socially and future-oriented university and program development, and in designing innovative teaching and learning formats, particularly in the BSc and MSc Data Science programs
  • Some initial experience with teaching in an academic setting is desirable
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as a passion for working with a variety of stakeholders from academia and the professional world
  • Scientific curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a structured, reliable, and independent approach to work
  • Interest in pursuing advanced academic training in the field of transformative (higher) education
  • Basic knowledge of German is required.
